Karsyn DeGast holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in textiles from Savannah College of Art and Design. Her practice is focused in weaving, applying the technique to various applications from large wall hangings to smaller scale pieces such as fiber-based jewelry. Major themes throughout her work include minimalism, geometry, and abstraction, along with an effort to create tactile sensibility through use of different materials and textures. Karsyn has exhibited work in Georgia, France, Wisconsin, and Maryland. She currently lives and works in Annapolis and is available for commissioned pieces.
